My two friends from childhood came to visit me yesterday. We havn't seen each other since I married at 16 and moved away. They have stayed in touch over the years and we found each other through classmates.com about 2 years ago and have stayed in touch via e-mail and phone. I received a call late Thursday evening from Rebecca who informed me that Trudi will flying to California from Dallas the next day and they would like to drive up to visit me on Saturday! We always said that we would get together one of these days...this was a pleasant surprise. Trudi was found by 3 half sisters who have been searching for her for many years and they haven't seen each other since she was 18! They are getting together today in Corona and she'll be spending a few days with them there. One of her sisters lives in Canada and she has also flown in for the meeting. We spent the whole afternoon at my house talking and bringing up so many wonderful memories from our childhood. It was a long day for them as it was a 5 hour drive to my house...then they left last night about 7pm to head back south again. Rebecca lives in Costa Mesa and we have promised to visit each other more often now. She lives near Disneyland and I love Disneyland...the Happiest Place On Earth!
Hi Willy, I'm so glad you had a great time reminiscing with Trudi and Rebecca. They look like such nice women. There is a sadness in Trudi's eyes, though, and I understand her grief. Be sure to refer her to me if you think she might be interested in sharing. In the meantime, I hope she has a wonderful time reuniting with her family. Willy, you must live in a very central location since everyone stops in to see you. Lucky you! OMG...lbhygq I think. Let's see Leslie Barbara (me) hygiene queen? How's that?
Nice looking blog Willemina. My mom told me you'd be interested in having a clock on your blog. You can go to www.clocklink.com and get a clock for free in the clock galleries. Look through everything before picking one because they get new ones weekly. It'll give you a choice of different colors(depending which clock you pick) and if you change the original color wait about minute because the html code that you'll have to insert into your template will change. Copy and paste this code into your template and your set. Just in case you don't know where to put the html code, I created a blog just like yours (which I'll have to delete) just to see how your template is set up so that I could tell you where is appropriate, due to how your template is set up, to put your clock. You have to scroll all the way down the Edit Template page until you find this phrase. Sorry but I can't put html here to show you exactly how it'll look(I tried to put it)but you'll see:
Begin sidebar
Then paste the html code DIRECTLY under that and preview it to see if you got it right. If you have any questions just post it on my blog. Bon Voyage!
Hi Joanne - I saw your previous post here and tried putting a clock on my site and IT WORKED! Thanks for helping out. By the way, I couldn't find how to put the name of the city on - it said you could, but how?
Hi Sylvia...I went to your blog and saw your clock :) Very good choice! And the color matches your blog perfectly! I chose mine to match my blue dress :) You know me though...I'll probably be changing it often... I'm going to work later today because my sister is going to Hearst Castle with her daughter...she's going in to pay the weekly taxes and I'll do the rest, so it will be a long afternoon for me since I'm used to getting off at 1:30 PM.
i love your blue also. i woke up at 4am this morning and was on the blogs until just before 7am setting up my clock and blog-hopping. time can really get away from you when you're blogging and having fun. i hope you're not real tired when you got work today.
Hi Sylvia I know exactly what you mean by time getting away from you...happens to me all the time...and I'll admit that it took me a couple of tries before I got the clock :) I was really tired after work today so I took a nap...although I didn't go in until 7am, I was still up at 4:30...I don't use an alarm clock it's an internal clock in my head and it won't let me sleep in :) I'm going to work 7-4 tomorrow also so that my sister can have another day with her daughter...she would do the same for me :) My niece returns to Miami Thursday evening.
and hello Josie We had such a good time...we all went to kindergarten together!
here's my word...qqwhwxzu quack quack who's willy kissing zu? can't think of anything clever for zu???
hi willy, it was good talking with you tonite also. such a pleasant voice. i'm looking forward to meeting you, and hopefully linda also. counting down, and almost time for take-off. will call you after i arrive in cali.
Hi Marty! Thanks for the wonderful note on my blog...very interesting! I don't think you've ever mentioned that you spent some of your childhood right here in Paso Robles! Wow...what a small world this is.
I really do hope that you and Tom will visit here one day...you're welcome to hook your motor home up right here at my house. My driveway is kind of private and it's extra long...room for 3 cars. I feel as you do...that God brings people into our lives for a reason and when I see what you write about Tom, I know you are very much in love and I'm so happy for both of you.
I'm glad you enjoyed my pictures...I plan to add more local scenery soon so please stop by again sometime.
here's my word...izcqtigy which stands for "izzie of carol is quite the tigey"...whatever that means?
Good morning Willemina, I see from your blog clock that I am approximately one hour ahead of you timewise. So, here I am getting an early start to my day with the first cup o' coffee
Yes, I did get mixed up with the hometowns on La Dolce Vida's. Happens when reading too fast and typing even faster :)
Joanne started high school as of yesterday and we are kept busy adjusting to her new time schedule. She is happy to be out of the house, finally! lol
Hi Enid, Wish I could join you with a cup of coffee...it would be nice to sit and chat and get to know one another better. My granddughters start school next Monday. Did I mention that they are enrolled in an immersion school? This means that the majority of their lessons are taught in Spanish. It's amazing how quickly they learn a second language and it doesn't hurt that both grandparents are fluent and so is their daddy and uncles. They read, write and speak Spanish fluently...they even have the accent...so cute :) So you are in the same time zone as Colorado which is where I used to live... my word is anqhckvx...heck if I know @#%&*!
Hi Sylvia... Since you missed the pictures of my granddaughters, I e-mailed them to you :) Let me know what you think?
I am cooking dinner for my mom. She won $100 at Bingo last week and so she has to bring food this time. I always make the food for her when she wins...this time it's enchiladas and spanish rice. They tell her that they like her to win because she always brings good stuff to eat :)
tata for now...may check in tonight then again...may not. Have a good night everyone.
Hi Willy, I am home early tonight. I pulled my shoulder muscle at work last week, so they filed a workmans comp file and sent me to the Dr's tonight. A pulled shoulder muscle. The pain goes all the way to my fingers. After 2 days off. And they had me lifting luggage again today. Nonstop for a month. Even the Station Manager is saying enough picking on the newbies. I didn't say anything last week because most of this week they had me doing non lifting jobs. Someone changed it. I just couldn't pull it off without screaming in pain tonight. One of the big bosses likes me and turned me in for therapy. Izzie has been a little off. They shot her up with antibiotics and she is showing signs of being a non lethargic puppy again. Of course this scares us silly.
Hi Carol, I'm sorry to hear that you've hurt yourself but it's a good thing that you filed the proper papers to document it. I realize that the airline business is not as glamorous as some may think and you know they always make the "newbie" do all the dirty work...ie: heavy lifting...etc. Take care of yourself and keep getting the therapy you need to recover fully.
What was up with Izzie? Did I miss something? I hope all is back to normal soon...
My world has it ups and downs just like everyone else's...I am just the type who keeps it in and people think that all is "hunky dorrie" (is that a word???) I say it often enough.
Today's Sylvia's Birthday!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SYLVIA I 'm so excited that we're finally going to meet one another next week...we'll celebrate your birthday together then :)
Sylvia's Birthday!!!! Okay...I cheated...I made that one up just for Sylvia... my real word is oqcci...now how do you get a birthday greeting out of that???
Nice hearing from you on my blog. Glad you like the music :) Joanne finally figured it out on her blog and then quickly put it on mine. She is a treasure!
I may keep changing the playlist but for now I have on Collide from Howie Day, Breakaway from Kellie Clarkson and I Say a Little Prayer from Dionne Warwick.
Your granddaughters are so cute and talented. Even with languages. Here in Belize, our primary language is English (being a former British Commonwealth country) but we are taught spanish at school and if we're lucky, speak it at home too. So you can say that most Belizeans are bilingual in at least two languages by the time we reach university level.
Have a great weekend and hope all will be hunky dory for you and yours.
Hi Willemina! Finally got the music on! Here's how to get it: To make things real simple:
Go to www.bestaudiocodes.com Go to the menu to the top and click on "audio codes" Type in the name of your artist and the songs the artist made will come up. Click on the song you want on your blog. A page will come up and say if you want to add to your playlist or generate the code for your song.On the page will give you a preview of how the song will sound on your blog. If you want them to play one after the other on your blog click "add to playlist". This allows you to select a bunch of songs to play on your blog. Just keep looking for your songs and clicking "add to playlist" If you just want one song then just click on "generate codes". A page will pop up. (if ur pop up blocker stops it find a way to allow the pop up.) This page is how you make your player fit to ur page. Click on "Show Video" on the little box where it's checked off because your blog won't have space to put a video and the song doesn't come with a video anyway. After adjusting the size and everything then you copy the code to ur blog and you're set. Whew! Lotta stuff! Hope it helps! Joanne
Hi Willy, I'm back! And I've posted some people pictures on my site. I figure Umberto is the real photographer and takes stunning shots of the scenery. As women, we want the people stuff. So check it out. Oh GAWD, typing test again - and I'm so tired I can hardly see straight. LOL
Welcome back Leslie! I did look at your pictures and they're wonderful...I hope to see some more? So when are you coming to California? Was it September? Let me know because I'll take 2 or 3 days off to spend with you and whomever else may happen along :)
